Mrs. Martha Mae Johnson Ashmore, 78, of 313 S. Jefferson Street, died at 10:30 a. m. Saturday, November 4, 1961 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Illinois, where she had been a patient for two days.
Services for Mrs. Martha Mae Johnson Ashmore will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Barrick & Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Bennett and the Rev. Dallas Newby will officiate, with burial in Georgetown Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. Sunday.
She was the daughter of James and Beulah Harrier Johnson and was a member of the South Side Church of Christ.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ross Thomas of Danville, Illinois, Miss Pearle Ashmore of New York City, New York, Mrs. Jerry Braun of Hammond, Indiana and Mrs. Charles Leverich, Jr. of Champaign, Illinois; a sister Miss Ociel Johnson of Georgetown Illinois; two brothers; John and Edwards Johnson of Georgetown, Illinois; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Her husband William Wesley Ashmore died on February 15, 1958 and a sister also preceded her in death.
