Funeral for Mollie Jo Johnson Bowling, 82, of Somerville will be Thursday, 26 May 2005, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph McCollum and Bro. Cliff Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bowling, who died Tuesday, 24 May 2005, at Decatur General Hospital, was born May 3, 1923, in Morgan County to William Gilbert Johnson and Maude Neill Johnson. She was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church where she was treasurer for many years. Mrs. Bowling was active in Country Garden Club and Wayside Garden Club.
Her husband, Aubrey Paul Bowling, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Jan Collier and her husband, Don, of Decatur, and Joan Southern and her husband, Bob, of Somerville; two brothers, A.D. Johnson and John Johnson, both of Somerville; one sister, Mary Johnson of Decatur; four grandchildren, Mark Collier, Leigh Anne Swindell, Amy Shirey and Amber Lee; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Don Collier, Robert Southern, Mark Collier, David Swindell, Harvey Bowling and Ronald Yancey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home or to Blue Springs Building Fund.
