Ferne Earnest
Ferne V. Earnest, 90, of Mediapolis, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Prairie Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mediapolis.
Born June 3, 1910, near Mediapolis, she was the daughter of E. William and Emma Lundeen Johnson. She married Charles W. Earnest on Dec. 20, 1933, in Mediapolis.
Mrs. Earnest was a 1928 graduate of Mediapolis High School. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Mediapolis and many church related organizations.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Marvin Earnest of Elkhorn, Neb.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, two infant sons, one great-grandson, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis. There will be no family visitation.
The funeral for Mrs. Earnest will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mediapolis, with the Revs. Mary Jo Maass and Kenneth Ebb officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for her church and Kossuth Cemetery.
