Mr. Andrew Johnson, retired farmer died Tuesday, November 18th, after a brief illness. He was a native of Hancock county and had lived near Sparta all of his life, being a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin Johnson.
Funeral services were held at Knowles Chapel Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon, November 19th. with his pastor the Rev. W.C. Bowen officiating. Interment was in the churchyard with Lewis & McCommons Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors are four sons, Daniel, William, Goodwin and Harold Johnson; eight daughters, Mrs. Mattie Batchelor, Mrs. Ruby Johnston, Miss Leila Johnson, Mrs, Lena West Johnson, Mrs. Janie Stephens, Mrs. Annie Mae Roberts, Mrs. Bessie Johnson, Miss Mary Johnson, four brothers, Jim, Tom, Alf and Pierce Johnson, five sisters, Mrs. Lula Reynolds, Mrs. Emma Johnston, Mrs. Freda Veal, Miss Nonie Johnson and Mrs. Zell Epps.
The pallbearers were; Messrs. Robert Johnston, Sebron Johnson, Lewis Johnson, Charlie Durden, Herman Adams and Frank Stephens.
The Ishmaelite extends sympathy to the bereaved ones.
