Barbara Ann Bataglia, age 68, of Wabasha, MN died Wednesday April 4, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center in Wabasha.

Barbara was born February 1944 in Eau Claire, WI to Elmer and Emaline (O'Keefe) Johnson. She grew up in Cascade Valley, near Nelson, WI and graduated from Alma High School. She received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Red Wing Vocational Technical Institute and worked as an LPN at Pepin Manor, Haven Homes and Red Wing Health Care Center, both of Red Wing, and St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center. She retired in 1991. When not at work she enjoyed crafts, cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles, and playing cards, but what she enjoyed the most was spending time with her precious grandbabies.

Barbara was preceded in death by one grandson, Lyle Allen Bataglia II, her parents, Elmer and Emaline (O'Keefe) Johnson, siblings, Maxine Bengston, Roland Johnson, Caroline Swenson, Emaline "Robyn" Coburn, Dale Johnson, and Vernon Johnson.

Barbara Bataglia is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lyle Bataglia, Nelson, WI; two daughters, Lori (Robert Glenn, Jr.) Carr, Orlando, FL, Lisa (David) Weghorn, Nelson, WI, and one son, Lyle (Konya) Bataglia, Jr., Plum City, WI; 10 grandchildren, Jessica and John A. Wayne, Michael Bataglia, Daniel Weghorn, Timothy Clark, Kayla Bataglia, Sadie Hooker, and Brittany, Alexus and Luke "Bubba" Bataglia; a brother, Charles Johnson, Red Wing, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 1 pm continuing until the memorial service at 2pm with Reverends Joseph LaPlante and James Hennessey officiating. Interment will be in Nelson Cemetery at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Lyle Bataglia, Jr., David Weghorn, Robert Glenn Carr, Jr., John A. Wayne, Daniel Weghorn, Michael Bataglia, Timothy Clark, Jessica Wayne, Kayla Bataglia, and Brittany Bataglia. The family prefers memorials.
