Frances Odin Johnson Baker, 80, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, died July 8, 1994 of cancer.

The sun will never shine as bright, The flowers will not smell as sweet,
Our lives will never be the same,
'Til once again we meet.

Born November 24, 1913 in Salt Lake City to Odin and Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson. Member of the LDS Church.

A truly unique, loving, and talented woman, she will be missed by all who knew her. Her beautiful hand-made items will be cherished by all who possess them. She was a perfectionist and independent until the end. She had an enthusiasm and zest for life that was never ending. She kept her yard and flowers beautiful until shortly before her 80th birthday.

In 1969, she received the American Business Woman's Association "Woman of the Year" Award. She held many prestigious positions in her working career at the State Capitol, Utah Construction, Tooele Ordinance Depot and her last and final job was as assistant treasure to the Garfield Smelterman's Credit Union. After 21 years of service with the credit union, she was forced to retire due to a disabling accident; however, she did not let this get her down. She learned to accept her handicap with strong determination.

She was a volunteer at LDS Hospital for many years and after her retirement became a volunteer for Magna Senior Citizen's Center and numerous other organizations. She was a woman to be proud of and a mother to be cherished.

Survived by her daughter, Sharron and husband Douglas Olsen, Sandy; son, Jerry and wife Penny Baker, St. George; son, Richard, Oregon; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 1994 at 12 noon at Spencer 1st Ward (Magna Stake Center), 3084 South 8400 West, Magna. Friends may call at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, Monday, 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the ward.

Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
