Lola Johnson Wyant Buckingham, age 94, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014.

She was born January 11, 1920 in Wellsville, Missouri. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University and Master's in Music Education from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She taught public school music in Illinois, Ohio and Tennessee.

In Chattanooga, she served as docent at the Hunter Art Gallery, taught in the READ program, and President of the Murray Hills Garden Club in its early days.

She was a member of St. Thaddaeus Episcopal Church where she formed The Flower Guild and was Chairman for nearly thirty years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson; brother, Forrest; husbands, Timothy Wyant and Robert Buckingham.

Lola is survived by her son, Timothy Wyant of Rainsville, Al; daughter, Janalee Wyant of Chattanooga; step-children, Kittye Buckingham of Maryland, Robert Buckingham of Scottsdale, AZ and Stephen Buckingham of Colorado.

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am on Thursday, May 29 at St. Thaddaeus Episcopal Church, 4300 Locksley Lane, Chattanooga, TN 37416.

A celebration of Lola's life will follow at 11 am on Thursday at the church with The Reverend David R. Hackett officiating.

A reception will be held at 12 pm (noon) followed by the burial at National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made in Lola's name to Hospice of Chattanooga at
