Donna Lucile Gump, a resident of East Portland, passed away at home after a long illness with her loved ones by her side. Born in Portland to McDonald and Edna Johnson, she graduated from Grant High School in 1950 and attended Oregon College of Education in 1951. Donna married Harold "Chet" Gump in 1952. They initially lived in California, as Chet was serving in the U.S. Air Force, then settled in Portland in 1961. Donna worked in retail and office positions before devoting herself to being a homemaker. She was a successful and enthusiastic Avon Lady for over 30 years. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Cynthia LaSala and Stacie Garabrandt both of Kent, Wash.; sister, Barbara Johnson of Chicago; brother, Thomas Johnson of Minneapolis; and grandchildren, Morgan, Michael, Lindsay, Gabriel and Katie. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Zion Memorial Cemetery in Canby. The family suggests donations may be made to Kaiser Hospice Program.

Gresham resident Donna Lucile Gump died Friday, Aug. 19, at home with her loved ones by her side. She was 78.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Zion Memorial Park Cemetery, Township Road and Walnut Street, Canby. Her brother, the Rev. Thomas Johnson, will preside over the service.
Donna was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Portland to McDonald and Edna Johnson. She graduated from Grant High School in 1950 and attended the Oregon College of Education (now Western Oregon University).
On Dec. 6, 1952, she married Harold Gump in Portland.
Donna was a homemaker and an Avon saleswoman for more than 30 years.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Cynthia LaSala and Stacie Garabrandt of Kent, Wash.; sister, Barbara Johnson of Chicago; brother, the Rev. Thomas Johnson of Minneapolis; and five grandchildren.
Family Memorial Mortuary is handling arrangements.
