|Birth: ||May 11, 1854|
Skåne län, Sweden
|Death: ||Dec. 13, 1914|
Daughter of James Johnson and Johanna Nilsdotter.
--Christena Johnson Yorgason, of Fountain Green, Utah
--Caroline "Carrie" Johnson, of Omaha, Nebraska
--Adam Michael Johnson, of Omaha, Nebraska
She was married
(1) on October 14, 1873, to Charles Fuhrmann. This marriage was void, as he was already married. This "marriage" resulted in her only child, a son. An annulment was obtained.
(2) on February 20, 1882, to Alonzo S. Gunn. This marriage ended just 40 days later, when he died from "black small pox"
(3) on October 27, 1886, to Robert D. Duncan. She was his second wife. He was the son of a pipefitter, and was himself a plumber/pipefitter. He was also a veteran, having served as a private in the U.S. Army in the 1870s, posted in Wyoming.
Her son Charles, whose name was changed from Fuhrmann to Johnson after his parents' marriage annulment, went into railroad work, just like his uncle Adam Johnson. Her son ultimately changed his name from Charles Johnson to Charles Adams, in honor of his uncle Adam Johnson.
Her son Charles later married and had two children, but proved to be a severely abusive husband and father. On March 15, 1900, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was shot and killed by his wife "Jessie" or Jessica; after imprisonment and a trial, Jessica was acquitted by the coroner's jury.
Jessica Adams changed her name to Virginia Adams, then through a second marriage became Virginia Saffin. Celia's two grandchildren were either formally or informally adopted by Jessica's second husband, Lyman Saffin, and they moved to New Jersey. It seems that Celia never saw her grandchildren again.
Celia Duncan's death in 1912 was due to cancer. Her husband Bob had very poor health in his old age, and in 1914 he died from pneumonia while living at a Veterans hospital in Kansas.
Go your way to the land of the Ancestors,
where they wait for you with open arms, there on the edge between this world and the next.
See; there they stand.
Ancestral spirits, welcome this one
to the place where we all must go.
