Brewster Johnson, Jr.
Services for Brewster Johnson Jr. of Greenwood will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke Church of God in Christ.
Mr. Johnson, 86, died of heart failure Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
He was born in Lexington. He was a landscaper who had worked at Greenwood nursery and was retired from the law firm of Floyd Melton. He was a member and usher at St. Luke Church of God in Christ and enjoyed meeting people and landscaping.
He is survived by five daughters, Loretta Blake of Jackson, Sarah Ann Peasler of Eastpointe, Mich., Eva Blackshire-Arline of Norwalk, Calif., Eleane Terrell of Kansas City, Mo., and Georgia Miller of Greenwood; two sons, Jimmy Davis and Johnny Blackshire, both of Greenwood; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at Great Southern Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. Saturday until the services at the church.
Elder Anthony Jones Sr. will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Ron Cook, Elijah Jones, Tom Johnson Jr. and Andrew Powell.
Members of the family will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
