Mr. Johnson was a native of Kentucky. He lived in Modesto 30 years, and previously in Richmond 25 years.
He was a retired foundry worker.
He enjoyed gardening, attending church and preaching.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty King of Modesto; brother, Willie B. Johnson; and 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial at Lakewood Memorial Park.
