Anna Lou Johnson, age 86, wife of the late Francis Monroe Johnson, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken, SC.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Daniel Durant Smith and Anna Rebecca Blake Smith. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of United Methodist Women and the Emma Thompson Sunday School Class. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by two sisters, Angela and Eleise Smith; and three brothers, Emmett, Blake and Durant Smith.
Surviving include three daughters, Jane Corder and husband Wilber of Columbia, Becky Micinski and husband Ed of Martinez, GA, and Fran Rickenbaker and husband Rick of Conway; four grandchildren, Bill Corder and wife Valerie of Lumberton, NC, Alan Corder and wife Julie of Charlotte, NC, Bobby Sessions and wife Jenny of Aiken, SC, and Heather Brazell and husband Shane of North Augusta, SC; and two great-grandchildren, Morgan Sessions and Blake Brazell.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mack Kinnett and Rev. Carl Harris officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to the United Methodist Women or Emma Thompson Sunday School Class, c/o First United Methodist Church, 1001 5th Avenue, Conway, SC 29526.
