Alice was my Great-Grandmother, my mother's father's mother. Alice was the second born of seven children of George Washington Cox and Catherine Louisa Catlin.

Alice married John August Johnson on November 2, 1886 in Lyndon, Osage Co., Kansas. They were married 45 years at the time of John's death in 1932.

Alice and John had three children between them (all boys). First born was John Otto "Quinn" Johnson born in 1888, second born was Roy Alford Johnson born in 1891, and third born was Peter Elmer "Pete" Johnson born in 1896.

Obituary:
"Funeral services for Alice Johnson, 94, resident of Modesto for 46 yrs., will be held at 11 am tomorrow in the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home. Committal will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson died Friday following an illiness of 3 weeks. She was born in Indiana. She was the mother of Peter Johnson, Escalon, San Joanquin Co., John A. Johnson, Hesperia, CA and Roy A. Johnson of Pomona, CA; sister of George Cox, Los Angeles, CA, grandmother of six, great grandmother of 16, great great grandmother of four.
