Doris, 87, was born the daughter of Oscar & Olga (Hostvet) Johnson. She lived her entire life in the Houston area. Doris graduated from Houston High School in 1940. On March 2, 1946, she married Donald George in Rushford, MN. Donald died March 2, 1998. Before marriage, Doris worked at Grasby and Flatt Grocery Store and later at Skifton's Department Store in Houston. Doris also wrote for Houston Signal newspaper and clerked at Houston Post Office. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary in Houston. In her spare time she enjoyed golfing, reading and antique collecting. Doris is survived by her children, Mary Dahle of St. Paul, MN, Jim (Julie) George of Appleton, WI, Beth George (Steve Sanden) of Houston, MN, and Anne George (Scott Fahrenkrug) of Minneapolis, MN; grandson, Ben George; and brother, Roger (Shirley) Johnson of Houston, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Lynden Johnson; and son-in-law, Larry Dahle. Funeral services were held at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston, with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating.
