The Paris News, 21 Nov 2010. ‘Doris Esther Casey, 86, passed away Thursday, Nov 18, 2010, at Spring Creek Gardens Assisted Living in Plano. Funeral services have been set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov 24, at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with her grandsons David, Kyle and Kevin Kennedy officiating. Interment follows at Forest Chapel Cemetery. The family receives friends one hour before the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born in Chicota July 7, 1924, the youngest child of John William Johns and Dora Hines Johns. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ and attended Lamar Avenue Church of Christ, before moving to Plano to be near her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 66 years, Charles Robert Casey; brothers, Earl, Curtis, Owen, Lester, Woodrow, Eugene, James and Landrum; a sister, Mabel Carley; and an infant brother and sister.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlene Kennedy and husband Glenn; three grandsons, Charles David Kennedy and wife, Pamela, of the Woodlands, Kyle Wade Kennedy and wife, Michelle, of San Antonio and Kevin Lee Kennedy and wife, Candice, of Allen; five great-grandchildren, Sarah, Ian, Kaitlyn, Tessa and Lilly Kennedy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are David Kennedy, Kyle Kennedy, Kevin Kennedy, Ian Kennedy, Johnny Johns and Derryl Johns.
