Joeckel, Harvey G. born March 10th, 1920, died peacefully at his home on February 22, 2014. Mr. Joeckel is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Tiernan); children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II. Harvey was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor, where he was on duty aboard the USS Warden. During the war, he transferred to submarine service with a tour of duty on the USS Stingray. Following the war, he entered the US Coast Guard. Harvey served with distinction, and for his services he earned several medals. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, the Submarine Veterans of World War II and the VFW. Harvey donated his body to St Louis University.
