Kirsten's parents were Joseph H Christensen and Hannah Thompson. She married Fred Cox Jewkes on 26 Feb 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was the mother of two sons. Their son, McKay Christensen Jewkes, was killed in an patrol car accident while serving as a duputy sheriff on 28 June 1959.
