Elizabeth Jewkes Bryan, age 89, passed away January 26, 2012 while surrounded by her family.
She was born March 5, 1922 in Kenilworth, Utah to William Henry Jewkes and Grace Tatton.
Married Theodore "Ted" Bryan on August 22, 1940 in Orangeville, Utah. He passed away on November 18, 1984.
Our mother was cheerleader of the year in her senior year of high school because of her personified pep and vitality in Orangeville, Utah. She was also on the student council and a Student Body Officer. Family was the most important thing in life to her and she loved traveling with them. She was a wonderful cook and loved to make cookies for her family especially at Christmas and would send them to her family no matter where they were. Mom was the last of her and dad's siblings. For many years mom was the care taker for the family. She liked to bowl, play cards, bingo and take trips to Mesquite and Wendover. She was a huge fan of the Jazz and Cubs. Elizabeth lived most of her life in Kenilworth but also lived in Woodscross and Price. She retired from the school lunch program in Price after 12 years of service. She also worked at the bowling alley in Carbonville for a number of years. Elizabeth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and made good friends there. The family would like to express a special thank you to Mitchell Funeral Home, Pinnacle Nursing & Rehabilitation, Dr. Nichols and Dr. Potter for all the wonderful and tender care they gave our mom. She is survived by one son and two daughters, Roger (Lori) Bryan, Ivins, Utah; Janet Barney, Helper; Susan (Kelly) Nielsen, Price; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Troy C. and Stewart Bryan; brothers, Ted (Artell) Jewkes and Harold (Fern) Jewkes; sisters, Dee (Art) Waterman, Helen Ware (Ted) Swasey and Thelma (John) Cox; four grandsons, Eric Ray, Kelly Jr., Joshua Roger and Jeremy Lynn Nielsen.
