BARDEN - Mrs. Maud J. Barden, 86, of Richford, died late Wednesday afternoon at Tompkins County Memorial Hospital, Ithaca.
She is survived by three sons, Roger E. Barden, Vorheesville, Kenneth V. Barden, Brooktondale, Philip F. Barden, Brooktondale, N.Y.; four daughters, Mrs. Charles W. (Marian) Howland, Berkshire, Mrs. Vernon (Marjorie) Gehm, Berkshire, Mrs. Kenneth (Doris) Power, Virgil and Mrs. Charles (Barbara) Higgins, McGraw; a brother, Smith Jewett, Clearwater, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Richford, June 9, 1887, daughter of the late Lyman and Mary Smith Jewett.
She was the widow of Ezra H. Barden.
Private funeral and committal services will be held at the convenience of the family from the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. The Rev. James Willard, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Berkshire, will officiate.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire, in the family plot, at a later date.
Friends are asked to remember the Richford Emergency Squad in her memory. Arrangements are by the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley.
