Simpsons Daily Leader, Kittanning Pa, December 21, 1909, page 1 & 5:
The lingering illness of Mrs. Mary Jessop Helderle, one of Kittanning's best known women, came to a peaceful close at the Kittanning General Hospital this (Tuesday) morning at twenty minutes of ten o'clock.
Deceased was born on Forbes Street, Pittsburgh, May 1, 1855 and was therefore in her fifty-fifth year. She was a daughter of the late Charles Christopher Jessop and Eliza St. Clair Jessop and was married twice. Her first husband was Edwin Neville, an Englishman, and after his death she was united in wedlock with the late John Helderle, a prominent business man of this place.
Deceased had been an invalid for eighteen years and sometime ago was removed to the hospital for operations in hopes of her health being benefited. Such was not the case, however, and the decline continued until the end came this morning.
She was an earnest member of St. Paul's Episcopal church and until prevented by her health failing was a faithful worker in the congregation.
Two brothers, Drs. S. S. S. and C. J. Jessop, survive and they have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
