IRENE JERRELL RAIN, 97, of Fort Myers, Fla., and formerly of Bridgeton, died Thursday at the Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center in Fort Myers following a brief illness.

Mrs. Rain worked for several years as a sales clerk at the former Zambone's Department Store in Bridgeton.

She was a longtime member of the Laurel Hill United Methodist Church in Bridgeton and taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She had recently been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeton.

She additionally held memberships with the Ranch Hope Auxiliary and the Cumberland County Manor Auxiliary.

While a Fort Myers resident, she attended Tice United Methodist Church.

Born in Cedarville, Mrs. Rain was a longtime area resident who lived on Walnut Street in Bridgeton for many years.

She would spend half the year in New Jersey and the other half in Florida, where she formerly lived in the Keys. For the last five years, she lived in Fort Myers with her daughter.

Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine Kline, with whom she resided, Hazel R. Donn of Upper Deerfield Township and Elsie R. Baker of Fort Myers; a brother, Robert B. Jerrell of Bridgeton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Freitag Funeral Home, Bridgeton. Burial will be in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton.
