OGDEN - Vernice Margaret Jensen Adams, 93, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at a local care center.
She was born March 10, 1909 in Tremonton, Utah, a daughter of Lars and Elizabeth Cottam Jensen. She married Joseph Farrell Adams on Feb. 9, 1932, in Ogden. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 29, 1950. He died in July 23, 1980.
Vernice had lived in Ogden since 1930. She owned and operated the J & K Drive-ln, Ogden for more than 30 years. She had been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she had been active in the primary and relief society. During WWll, she organized a group to serve refreshments to the servicemen coming through Ogden. She served as chairman of the OId Folks Committee for 17 years. She was a member of the Goodfellows, president of the Service Store League-Maud Eldredge Chapter; Red Cross and the Union Garden Retirement Center.
Surviving are one son and two daughters, Farrel J. (Beverly) Adams and Kay Smith, both of Ogden; Julie Adams, Salt Lake City; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 12,2002, at 11 a.m. in the Larkin & Sons Mortuary where friends may call Thursday, April 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment in the Ogden City Cemetery.
