George F. Jenny, 87, of 2215 Sunset Ave., Utica, passed away Monday evening, August 31, 1992, at his home after a long illness.
He was born in Utica, NY, September 5, 1904, the son of Frank J. and Sophia M. George Jenny. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of U.F.A. George later graduated from the Utica School of Commerce and the A.I.B. Banking Institute. On August 4, 1934, Mr. Jenny married M. Irene Sweet at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica. The couple celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on August 4, 1984. Mrs. Jenny passed away on September 29, 1984. For over 44 years, George was employed by the Marine Midland Bank in Utica and was manager of the West Utica merchants branch and later became assistant-treasurer and manager of the New Hartford branch, until his retirement in 1968. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica. He was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Men's Club and was a member of the Marine Midland 25-Year Club.
Mr. Jenny is survived by one sister, Frances H. Jenny, of Utica; a niece and nephew, in California; special cousins, Ruth F. George, of Utica, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sheen and their family, of Schenectady.
His funeral will be held on Thursday morning, September 3, 1992, at 10:30 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., and at 11:00 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Whitestown. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9.
