BUTLER - Wilma Jean "Till" Armstrong, age 83, of Butler, Indiana, died at 11:35 a.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, where she was a resident, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Armstrong was a 1947 graduate of Edgerton High School and was employed by Crane-Edmund and the DeKalb Molded Plastics in Butler until her retirement. She also spent many years working on the family farm near Butler and was a longtime member of Big Run Church and the Town and Country Home Demonstration Club where she was active in making puppy pillows, baby blankets and bereavement gowns for infants. For many years she was a volunteer reader at the Butler Elementary School and also taught students about farming in the classroom through the Indiana Farm Bureau and Indiana Soybean Council.

Wilma Jean "Till" Armstrong was born on March 23, 1929, near Butler, Indiana, the daughter of Russel L. and Ruby H. (Platt) Jennings. She married R. Dale Armstrong on January 1, 1949, in Butler and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1988. Survivors include one son, Larry Armstrong of Auburn, Indiana; one daughter, Dalene (Paul) Pfefferkorn of Hamilton, Indiana; four grandchildren, Jasen Pfefferkorn, Nathan Pfefferkorn, Tonya Schlabach and Janalle Wiegand; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Sanders and Margaret Sanders, both of Edgerton, Ohio; and three sisters-in-law, Avis (Bud) Baird of Butler, Delores Armstrong of Auburn, and Phyllis Jennings of Edgerton. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Paul and Kenneth Jennings, one sister, Evelyn Gift; and a daughter-in-law, Catharina Armstrong.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio. Services will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, with Pastor Mike Halferty officiating. Interment will follow in the Butler Cemetery.
