Clinton T. Jenkins, 87, died Tuesday, January 1st in the Brockton Hospital. He was the husband for 62 years of Bessie F. (Look) Jenkins.
Born and raised in Whitman, he was the son of the late Arthur and Gladys (Turpel) Jenkins, and a graduate of Whitman High.
Mr. Jenkins served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945, and was stationed in the South Pacific during WWII, where he was an aviation machinist mate and received many medals for his service.
He drove truck for Colburn Vault of Whitman for 27 years.
He was a lifelong resident of Whitman where he was a dedicated member of the Methodist Church, the church choir, and was a lay leader for many years. He was a very active member of the VFW Post 697 in Whitman and a member of the Masonic Puritan Lodge.
He especially loved his family, friends, church and the outdoors.
In addition to his wife Bessie, he leaves his children; Douglas Jenkins and his wife Diane of Marston Mills, David Jenkins and his wife Sue of N.H., Marsha E. Alden and her husband Wayne of Whitman, his son-in-law Glenn Riskin of Easton; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his best friend Harry Blakeman of Abington and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Paula Riskin and brother of the late Corrine Rice.
