Frances Bell Barnes, 90, of Frankfort
Frances Bell Barnes, 90, of Frankfort, a former Monticello resident, died at 7:36 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at St. Vincent Hospital of Frankfort.
She was born in Burke, N.D., on Oct. 5, 1912, to Arthur and Etha Warrick Jay. She married Charles Barnes on March 11, 1934. He died on June 19, 1995.
She lived in White County since she was 2 years old, and was a 1930 graduate of Monticello High School.
She and her husband were farmers in White County, and she was a homemaker.
She was a member of Guernsey Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include sons, James E. (Kathy) Maxedon of Montreal, Canada and Joel T. (Ann) Barnes of Frankfort; sisters, Virginia Overfield of Granville, Ohio, and Alice Hare of Monticello; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A brother, Russell Jay, and a sister, Clara Watterson, are deceased.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at Fisher-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Services will follow at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Dana Hood officiating.
Interment will be at Pike Creek Cemetery, Monticello.
Memorials may be made to Guernsey Church of the Brethren or Frankfort Christian Church.
