Ronald C. Jason Sr. of Thorndale Ronald C. Jason, Sr., 76, of Thorndale, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Brandywine Hospital. He was the husband of Mary P. Jason (nee O'Brien), with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Chester County, he was the son of the late Cordell and Elmira Ferguson Jason. He was a 1958 graduate of Scott High School and proudly served his country as a sharpshooter in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Jason was currently employed by Krapf Bus Company. Prior to that, he worked for the Coatesville Area School District for 32 years, the Juvenile Detention Center as a detention officer, and as a police officer with the Valley Township Police Department. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, a cigar aficionado, and he adored his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ronald C., Jr. of West Chester, Michael P. (Marie) of Coatesville, Richard D. (Laurie) of Coatesville and Christopher J. (Kerrie) of West Brandywine. Also surviving are his brother, Richard of Arizona; sisters, Lois Jason of Arizona, Linda Diaz (Frank) of Arizona, Joyce Slay of Parkesburg; and grandchildren, Richard D. Jason, Jr., Ani Jason, Dalton Jason, Lyla Jason, Stephen Woods, Nicole Gatta, Erikka Gatta, Doug Urban; and great-grandchild, Kylie Rodney. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 28th, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, West Brandywine.
