Johnnie Virginia "Gin" Cleveland, born December 11, 1921, in OKC, the daughter of John and Annie Talley Jarmon, died September 23, 2011, at 89 years of age.
She was married to Buford "Boots" Cleveland on May 1, 1939. The couple was married for 66 years. They resided in OKC from 1939-1974. During her years in OKC, she served as PTA president for many years and as Pack Mother of Pack 19 for her two sons. She worked for County Commissioner Frank Lynch and Capitol Hill Tag Agency.
In 1974, the couple moved to Blossom, TX, where she served as a member of the Rebekahs and was awarded Worthy Grand Matron of her local Eastern Star chapter. In 1999, they returned to McCloud until 2010. From September 2010 to present, she resided at Sommerset Assisted Living Residence in OKC.
She is survived by her two sons, Ron Cleveland & wife Linda of Newalla and Paul Cleveland of OKC; five grandchildren: Jeffrey Cleveland & wife Dana of Moore, David Cleveland of Prague, Brett Cleveland & wife Tiffany of Wichita, KS, Kenneh Sala & husband Louis of Brookhaven, NY, and Cassie Haffner & husband Brady of Edmond; 10 great-grandchildren: Samantha and Jordan Cleveland of Moore, Cynthia Seaton & husband Travis of Paden, Racine and Davey Cleveland of Prague, Christian, Brandon and Hayden Cleveland of Wichita, KS, and Austin and Mackensie Sala of Brookhaven, NY; and great great-grandchild, Cassidy Jane Seaton of Paden.
Grandma you were such an inspiration to all of us. Your fun loving spirit, kindness and devotion to our family was immeasurable. We LOVE YOU and will MISS YOU very much!
