OBITUARY
Ira D. Jardine passed away on November 17, 2009 at Sunshine Terrace from causes incident to age. He was born December 13, 1917 in Clarkston, Utah to James Heggie and Margaret Buttars Jardine.

He attended grade school in Clarkston, Utah and graduated from North Cache High School in 1936, where he lettered in basketball.

He learned to work hard from his father in his youth, doing farm work and helping with the milk route to Sego Milk in Richmond, Utah.

He married Margaret Fackrell Jardine on September 19, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in Ogden, Utah for a short time and then returned to Clarkston and made their home there.

Ira worked various jobs including the Union Pacific railroad. He spent 36 years working at the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company in Garland, Utah, retiring in 1979.

After his retirement, Dad and Mom spent 12 summers working for Hamilton Stores Inc. in Yellowstone National Park. They made many new friends from all over the United States.

They are the parents of four daughters: Judy (Dennis) Clark, Boise, Idaho; Margie (Dean) Archibald, Clarkston, Utah; Jann (Boyd) Pugmire, North Logan, Utah; and Nancy (Martell) Lowe, Paradise, Utah. They have 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters and their spouses: Margaret (Sid) Godfrey; Venice (Paul) Pedersen; EvaLue (Paul) Bowen; and NaDean (DeVerl) Hess.

A viewing will be held Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home, 85 S. Main Smithfield, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clarkston 1st Ward Chapel, 25 E. 100 S. Clarkston, Utah, with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will take place in the Clarkston, Utah Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Sunshine Terrace on wings 3 and 5 for the loving care they provided Ira over the last 11 months.
