Mrs. Dorothea Elizabeth Jardine Hammon, 54, of R.F.d. No. 2, Pocatello, Ida., wife of Frank Leslie Hammon, former L.D.S. bishop of Rupert, Ida., Second ward, died Sunday at twelve-forty-five a.m. at the home of a sister. Mrs. Adrian Fife, Riverdale, Weber County, of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Mrs. Hammon had been ill for the past 10 years and was sending the week-end with her sister after undergoing treatment in Salt Lake City.
She was born March 4, 1891, in Taylor, daughter of Bishop William H. and Georgena Morrison Jardine. On April 14 1915, she was married to Frank Leslie Hammon in the L.D.S. Salt Lake Temple. They resided at Roy at Rupert Ida., for 21 years; two years in Boise, Ida., and later made thier home in Pocatello. Active in L.D.S. church work for many years she had worked in the Primary and Sunday school organizations of the Taylor ward and the Rupert Second ward Relief society. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Pocatello L.D.S. Ninth ward, where she was also active in the Relief Society.
Survivors include her husband, Pocatello; a son and five daughters: S 1/c Lyman B. Hammon, U.S. Navy, South Pacific; Mrs. Hazel May, Heyburn, Ida., Mrs. Elias George Colorado Springs, Colo.; LaVora, Martha Jean and Lola Ray Hammon, Pocatello; eight grandchildren; a brother and three sisters. James E Jardine and Ms. Lawrence A. Green, Taylor; Mrs. Fife, Riverdale and Mrs. Milton Litchfield, Raymond Alberta, Canada.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at one p.m. in the L.D.S. Taylor ward chapel by Bishop Roy Clark, assisted by a member of the L.D.S. Ninth ward bishopric of Pocatello. Interment will be in the Roy cemetery, directed by the mortuary, 3408 Washington.
