Norma Jean Calvert, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 27, 2012. She passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family.
Norma was born in Parsons, Kansas, on January 11, 1927, to Joe and Eleanor Jarboe. She grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1945. She married Don Calvert in 1946, and they moved to Bartlesville in 1955 where they raised their family. Norma was a gifted and talented dancer and was recruited by the Arthur Murray Dance Studio to join their team of instructors; however, she decided to dedicate herself to raising her three children, Mike, Debbie and Susan, who were her greatest joy and accomplishment. She was a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was an avid OU fan and loved her Sooners!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Eleanor Jarboe; her brother, Laverne Jarboe; her sister, Judy Frick; and her beloved husband, Don Calvert.
