Isal Sherman was born in 1899 in Lexington, the daughter of John Milton Sherman (1867-1951) and Julia Ann Woolsey (1869-1934). On June 12, 1916, Isal married Carl Jarboe, who was born June 2, 1892 in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County), son of Robert Walter Jarboe and Rebecca P. Teague.
Carl registered for the World War I draft on June 5, 1917. He gave his age as 25, his birth date and place as June 2, 1892 in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, his current residence as Holdenville, Oklahoma, and his marital status as single. In 1920, Carl was age 27, a farmer, and married, and living in Lexington with his wife, Isal, age 20, and their daughter, Euna, age 3 years 4 months. Living next door was Carl's parents and his two sisters. In 1930, Carl and his family were still in Lexington, and he and Isal then had five children, all born in Oklahoma: Euna, age 13; Robert, age 10; Doris, age 8; Francis age 4 years 11 months; and Raymond, age 1.
Carl died on August 2, 1966 and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery. Isal died over 20 years later and was buried beside him.
