Born in Spring Grove on August 16, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Jamison and the late Alta (Sowers) Jamison Mummert; and was also the step daughter of the late Maurice Mummert. Mrs. Bankert had been employed at Revonah Spinning Mill for many years and had also been a housekeeper for several families in the Hanover area.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, York St., and the Bible Study Group at All Saints Episcopal Church. In 1935, she graduated from the Junior Order Home of Tiffin, Ohio. A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she will be sadly missed by her son Robert W. Bankert of York; daughters, Judith A. Keagy of Lancaster, Katherine A. Laurence of Hanover; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, a step granddaughter; a step greatgranddaughter; three step greatgreat-grandchildren; her sister, Elda "Mickey" K. Wiles of Hanover; her brother, Elwood "Jake" H. Jamison of York; and her niece, Deborah Sellman of Hanover.
