If you have access to FamilySearch.org I've documented the two Edward Pate families therein. See GHTS-GQV husband of Julia Forehand, born in North Carolina and buried next to Julia in Zion Hill Cemetery. This is not the husband of Mary James. See 27CK-8G4 born in Tennessee, married Mary James in 1853 in Jefferson County, TN. He also died between the 1880 and 1900 census, but I find no grave documented on Find a Grave. He and Mary lived in Coryell County in 1880 census. The other Edward Pate and wife Julia are living in Comanche County in the 1880 census. (from Contributor 49616686)
