Jannie Jewel Chilcoat, 78, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at the North Miss. Medical Center. She was born July 15, 1925, in Itawamba County to Austin A. and Effie Spearman Jamerson. Early in life, she was employed as a teacher at Ryan School and was retired from Genesco, Inc. She was a member of the Fulton Free Will Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Senter Funeral Home with the Rev. Brandon Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Masonic Cemetery.
Survivors include one sister, Zelma Hood and her husband, Denson, of Fulton; her nieces, Louise Grimes, Doris Parmer, Brenda Byrne, Linda Hood, Ann Bridge, Agnes Harper, Janice Sandlin and Cathy Ashley; her nephews, Terry Jamerson and Johnny Jamerson; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Jamerson of Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walker Chilcoat; her sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Marvin Jarrell; and one brother, Troy Jamerson.
Pallbearers will be Charles Grimes, Grover Palmer, Tim Parmer, Terry Jamerson, Bobby Hargett, Wayne Wood, Jim McDonald, Terry Harrell and Ray Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be members of her Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 7:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
