Kathryn (LaFouge) Jacquinot

GIRARD — Kathryn (LaFouge) Jacquinot, 95, of Girard, died at 3:03 a.m., Monday, June 21, 2010, in Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg.

She was born December 6, 1914 in Greenbush, Kansas, a daughter of Benny and Mary Ellen (Brophy) LaFouge.

She attended schools in Greenbush and graduated from Girard High School.

She married Clifton J. "Clip" Jacquinot, Sr. on April 10, 1934 at Greenbush. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1987.

She was a housewife and they were farmers in the Greenbush area before moving to Girard in 1977.

She enjoyed her family, sewing, and flower gardening.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Girard and the Ladies Altar Society.

Survivors are a daughter, Kay Fogg and John of Frontenac; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters Jeanne Sullivan of Wichita and Marie Horsch of Wellington.

She was preceded in death by sons, Clifton J. Jacquinot, Jr., on January 7, 1990, Kenneth J. Jacquinot, on November 8, 2005, an infant son, Jerry, on September 6, 1936 and a great-granddaughter, Kirby Lynn Bennett, on October 28, 1999; brothers Ferdinand and Edward "Sonny" LaFouge and William "Bill" and Verdan LaForge; sisters Clara Stephenson, Alice Hallacy, Patricia Gutierrez, and Marguerite F. "Maggie" Westhoff.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Girard with Fr. Lawrence Carney as Celebrant.

Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.

The Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard where the family will receive friends following the Rosary.

Friends may call after 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Michael's Altar Society and these may be left at the church or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard.
