A native and former resident of Ionia county, Mrs. Mary C. Andres, 87, diedTuesday evening in Barry county medical facility. She previously made her home at 225 South Warren street in Freeport.
Born April 16, 1884, in Otisco township, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Jacoby. Following her marriage to John H. Andres, October 20, 1903,the couple settled and farmed in both Otisco and Keene townships until 1923,when they moved to Ionia. He died June 17, 1936.
Survivors include one son, Ernest Andres of Ionia; two daughters, Hilda Andresof Freeport and Mrs. Roman Slowinski of Ionia; three sisters, Mrs. Susie Feuerstein of Carson City, Mrs. Anthony Marhofer of Belding and Mrs. Ray Host ofGrand Rapids; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The body will be at Leonard-Osgood funeral home in Hastings, Wednesday and Thursday, where friends and relatives many call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday andfrom 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Andres will be brought to Myers-Roetman funeral home in Ionia Friday wherefriends and relatives may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home beginning at 7:30 p.m. Rosary will be recited Friday at 8:30 p.m.at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, at SS Peterand Paul Catholic church with burial in Mount Olivet cemetery, east of Ionia.
