AUSTIN -- The funeral for Alvina Marie Anderson will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Harold L. Usgaard officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.
Mrs. Anderson, 83, of Austin, a former playground supervisor, died Friday (July 30, 1999) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Alvina Marie Jacobsen was born March 31, 1916, in Blooming Prairie, Minn., and attended school there. On Nov. 1, 1932, she married Myron C. Anderson in Blooming Prairie. Mrs. Anderson was playground supervisor at Whittier Elementary School in Austin. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and was active in WELCA.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Melvin of Clear Lake, Minn., Laverne of Maple Lake, Minn., Dan of Omaha, Neb., and Dale of Austin; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
