Joan B. Bartles, 75, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
Born March 28, 1937, in Berkeley County, she was the daughter of the late Earl Vernon and Lillian Racey Jacobs.
She was retired from General Motors with 23 years of service.
She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald William Bartles; one son, Scott Bartles and wife, Stephanie, of Marlowe; one daughter, Michele Wood and husband, Ricky, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one grandchild, Donald Jason Bartles; one great-grand- son, Jason Cayon Bartles; one sister, Doris Foltz and husband, Duayne, of Martinsburg; nephew, Stacey Bartles, of Hedgesville; and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Orr and husband, William and Waunita Bartles, all of Martinsburg.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Bartles; and brother-in-law, Ronald Bartles.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Pleasant View Memory Gardens with the Rev Arnold Brown and the Rev. Ralph Campbell officiating.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home.
