Anna Isadora Jacobs, daughter of Fredus Howard Jacobs and Margaret Ann (Kennedy)Jacobs, was born in Clyde Twp/ Morrison, Whiteside County, Illinois, June 21, 1862. They lived near the Rock River.

Wearing a dark red dress, she married Charles Walter James Alexander in her mother's parlour, on Thanksgiving Day, Nov 25, 1880. They left immediately for Nebraska where CWJ had a homestead. She never saw her mother again, for her mother died a short time later.

Anna & CWJ lived in a "soddie" , which they converted to a barn, after building their house. They lived several miles from an Indian reservation, and had many adventures on the prairie.

After several years of bad crops & insects, they moved to Ohio in 1895, settling on Charles'Uncle Andrew Alexander's farm on Alexander Road, Bedford Township. Here they farmed until retiring from farming, they moved into town, ca 1920-21, buying a house at 103 Woodrow Ave.(Bedford)

Anna died 16 May 1951. She was buried next to her husband of 63 years, in Bedford Cemetery,19 May 1951.
