Wearing a dark red dress,she married Charles Walter James Alexander in her mother's parlour, on Thanksgiving Day, Nov 25, 1880. They left immediately for Nebraska where CWJ had a homestead. She never saw her mother again, for her mother died a short time later.
Anna & CWJ lived in a "soddie" , which they converted to a barn, after building their house. They lived several miles from an Indian reservation, and had many adventures on the prairie.
After several years of bad crops & insects, they moved to Ohio in 1895, settling on Charles'Uncle Andrew Alexander's farm on Alexander Road, Bedford Township. Here they farmed until retiring from farming,they moved into town, ca 1920-21, buying a house at 103 Woodrow Ave.(Bedford)
Anna died 16 May 1951. She was buried next to her husband of 63 years, in Bedford Cemetery,19 May 1951.
