She was a 1961 graduate of Hayden High School. She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone and later retired from Lincoln Center OB/GYN in Topeka.
She provided loving child care for her grandchildren following her retirement. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.
She enjoyed traveling the country with Skip and camping with her family.
Charlotte married Leslie N. Skip Anderson on May 12, 1962 in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include her children, Brenda (Alan) Long, Shelly (Timothy, Sr.) Apodaca, Dale (Stephanie) Anderson, Nickie (Darren) McCall, and Jackie Anderson ; her mother, Mary Jacobs; 12 grandchildren, Beth, Tim, Jr., Brian, Travis, Jason, Abby, Alex, Alan, Jr., Hannah, Jayme, Sydney and Lucas; 3 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Dylan, all of Topeka; and 5 siblings, Cathy Blattner, Barbara Howard, Paul Jacobs, Bill Jacobs and Sharon Hartner.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Anderson will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2010, at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation. Memorial ceremonies will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2010 at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
