CARLSBAD — Alice AnnLou Jacobs Duncan, 94, passed away on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Landsun Manor in Carlsbad.
Alice was born Aug. 13, 1913, in Loudon, Tenn. She was the daughter of John Isaac and Martha LouViney Atkins Jacobs and had eight brothers and two sisters. Alice married the love of her life, George Washington Duncan, on May 18, 1934. Alice and George had four children, a son, John Duncan and wife Barbara of Spring Hill, Fla.; daughter, Gwyn Scott and husband Charles of Carlsbad, and daughter, Brenda Braun of Wallace, Mich. She is survived by one brother, Wilbur Jacobs of Lenoir City, Tenn. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Alice had a passion for life that could be seen by everyone that knew her, along with a smile that could light up anyone's heart. She had many interests, including baking, canning, crafts and gardening. She was a lifelong member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Lenoir City, Tenn. where she was a Sabbath school teacher, Vacation Bible School leader and Dorcas Leader. Alice was a wonderful mother, Nanny, Nana, Aunt Alice, friend and has left a wonderful legacy to her family. Anyone that knew her learned the value of honest hard work, love and forgiveness. She was devoted to the Lord and studied her Bible daily. The Family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers/friends who have been by her side for the past five years at Sweetwater Nursing Center and at Landsun Manor.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Duncan and a daughter, Wilma Rohrhoff of Orlando, Fla.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Macedonia Cemetery with Wayne Phibbs officiating the service. Loudon Funeral Home is providing arrangements
