|Birth: ||Dec. 17, 1923|
|Death: ||May 16, 1994|
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Luana Jean Jackson Barnhurst passed away suddenly after an extended illness, at age 70.
Luana was born in Salt Lake City, Utah December 17, 1923, the daughter of Lyle Jackson and Laura May Oberhansly Jackson. She married Joseph Samuel Barnhurst, May 29, 1945, in Salt Lake City, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple February 12, 1963.
Luana was an excellent secretary for over 30 years. She worked with Lois P. Crowder for several years before joining the staff of Evans Advertising. She was a hard and diligent worker.
Luana loved music and played several instruments. As a youth she performed with her twin brothers on several occasions including the San Francisco World's Fair at age 10. She played in the Tribune Band and the South High School Band, where she received awards of distinction for music. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as an organist and accompanied and wrote music for several ward road shows. She was an avid reader and a master of the English language. She shared this love with all of us and she also enjoyed traveling with Joe, especially in Hawaii.
Mother was our greatest fan. She was proud of all her children and grandchildren and tickled pink with her great-grandchildren. She adored our dad and loved her brothers and sister. She was kind and generous and loved her neighbors. This is her legacy.
She is survived by: Her devoted and loving husband; four children: three sons and their wives, Burr Oberhansly Barnhurst and Marie, Sandy; Samuel Glenn Barnhurst and Nancy, Salt Lake City; and Noel Joseph Barnhurst and Suzanne, San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter, Christine Louise Barnhurst, Murray; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; twin brothers, Lyle Ralph and Lowell Robert Jackson and twin brother and sister, Lee Gordon Jackson and Leah Janet Jackson Child.
Sweetheart and mother, we love you and we love what you taught us. You're beautiful and we will miss you.
