WOODBURN - Mary Boyle died June 3, 2008 at Dallas Retirement Village where she was a resident for the past month. She was 93 years old.
She was a life long resident of Woodburn until moving to Dallas in May.
She was born on July 26, 1914, 12 minutes after her twin sister Margaret. They were known as the 'Jackson Twins' all of their lives. They were born to Mary and David Jackson who had emigrated from Scotland in the early 1900's. She graduated from Woodburn High School in 1932 and returned to teach PE at WHS during the war; leaving to marry Robert Bob Boyle in Vancouver, Wash. in June of 1946 after he returned from the war. She talked about the students she taught at the high school all of her life. They moved to his family's 26 Acre filbert farm east of Woodburn after his parents died and remained there until Bob's death in 1999.
She is survived by her four children, Tobie (Paul) Habeck of Woodburn, Roxie (Alvin) Atwood of Oregon City, Patsy (Bob) Sigloh of Woodburn, and David (Debbie) Boyle of Stayton. She had seven grandchildren, Vince and Tim Habeck, Ben and Jackie Sigloh, Jennifer, Robyn and Abby Boyle; and three great-grandchildren, Alivia Evey-Sackman, Lucian Habeck and Kati Habeck.
Mary was predeceased by her brothers, Bob and George Jackson; and husband, Bob. Services will be graveside and private at the Belle Passi Cemetery in Woodburn. The Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center is handling the arrangements. To leave an on-line condolence go to www.dallastribute.com.
