Marian J. Baldy, 85, Hillsboro, died Nov. 26, 2007, at her home.

Mrs. Baldy was born Nov. 18, 1922, in North Plains, a daughter of Frank and Grace Elford Jackson. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1939, and attended Pacific University where she earned a bachelor's degree in teaching in 1943. She then earned the equivalent of a master's in teaching and taught at several Washington schools before moving to New York City.
She loved the excitement of the city, where she worked in the television research and advertising industry for A.C. Nielsen Company, the Broadcast Advertising Bureau and for Foote, Cone and Belding managing their media research department.
She married Jean Baldy, July 25, 1964, in New York City, where they lived. In 1966 she worked for Metromedia Inc. and produced documentaries with National Geographic and Jacques Cousteau. She retired in 1981.
Mrs. Baldy was a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and in 1973 was listed in "The World of Who's Who of Women." She traveled with her husband, Jean, throughout the world.
The couple moved to Sequim, Wash., in 1991. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jean, in 2000, and by two siblings, Wesley Jackson and Dorothy Melebeke. In 2005 she moved to Hillsboro.
Survivors include her brother, Robert W. Jackson, Hillsboro, and many nieces and nephews.
