Funeral services for Mr. Rufus Jackson will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2005 in the Rush Chapel, Oakdale – Downtown Location with Reverend Darren Miller officiating. Entombment will follow in Providence Cemetery, Metairie under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Jackson, 65, of Oakdale, formerly of New Orleans, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 4, 2005 in his residence.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Israel, Iscaa, Loucious, Hilton, C.J., Hillery, and M. C. Jackson and one sister, Letha Jackson. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-one years, Eljestina Jackson of New Orleans; three sons, Hillery Jackson, Israel Jackson and Rufus Jackson, Jr., all of New Orleans; three daughters, Ella Jean Jackson, Mindy Jackson, and Leatha Jackson, all of New Orleans; two sisters, Dorthy Lee Jackson and Elloise Jackson, both of Tylertown, Mississippi; twelve grandchildren and four hundred nieces, nephews and cousins.
