Ruby was the youngest of six children born to Charles and Annie Jackson.
After graduating from high school, Ruby moved to Gunnison for employment. There she met Milton Robert Hammond and they were married on January 1, 1940. They made their home in Fayette where they raised four children.
Ruby spent her life working in the service of her family, friends and church. She look forward to visits of family and time was always available for visiting, along with a meal. She especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren.
Ruby was known in Fayette for her large and productive vegetable garden and beautiful flowerbeds. She spent many hours working in the garden and visiting with friends and neighbors passing by.
Service to friends and neighbors was a part of Ruby's life and over the years she fulfilled many callings in the Fayette Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Ruby also spent time compiling family history, genealogy and attending the temple. She enjoyed reflecting on the many fond memories of her life, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Hammond and son, John Robert Hammond.
