Larry Franklin Jackson, Sr., Age 78. Born April 14, 1936 in Nashville, TN. Died with his family by his side on April 24, 2014. Preceded in death by father, George E. Jackson, Sr., mother Mary Myrtle Jackson and brother, James W. Sturdivant.
Survived by son, Larry F. Jackson, Jr., Nashville, TN, daughters Sherry Jackson Field and husband Dan, Nashville, TN, Edith (Edie Jackson) and William Black (Palmyra, TN), grandchildren Mack Mangrum, Daniel Field, Clint Carter, Katie Douglas, Jody Carter, great-grandchildren Brooke Mangrum, Desi Carter, Angel Carter, Joe Douglas, brother George E. Jackson, Jr. (Bettye).
Mr. Jackson retired from the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department and was one of the original members of the Newman’s Raiders, an elite Motorcycle Corp of officers. He later retired from the Tennessee Department of Corrections. He was a member of the West Nashville Moose Lodge for many years.
Larry was gifted with the ability to make friends everywhere he went and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family extends their gratitude to the caring staff at The Emeritus of Bellevue, The Meadows, Charley Barrett and the staff at Alive Hospice and Dr. Charles Daniels.
Burial will be at Harpeth Hills Cemetery.
