Mrs. Bland was born December 24, 1928, in Sherman, Illinois, the daughter of Benjamin Jackson and Fannie Russle Brooks.
She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church. She married William R. Bland on July 14, 1962.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence Jackson and wife Delores of Springfield; daughters, Brenda Rouse and husband Tony of Roulette, Texas, Manzella Jackson, and Billie Whyte both of Springfield, Illinois, and Deanna Bland-Jones of Champaign, Illinois; twenty-four grandchildren, fifty-three great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three children, two sisters, one brother, a grandson, granddaughter and one great-grandson.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon followed by Celebration of Life services at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 06, 2009 at Walker Funeral Service, 2300 E. Cook St. Burial will be held in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
