The body of a Yonkers boy, who lost his life in France during the World War, was laid in its final resting place yesterday, when military services were held over the remains of Private Arthur Anscar Jackman, at the home of his relatives in Mulford street.
The services were conducted by Father John, rector of the Sacred Heart Church. Then the body was taken in charge by his former comrades. The casket, draped in a large American flag, was carried from the house by uniformed men, while the firing squad presented arms.
At Oakland Cemetery, where interment took place, three volleys were
fired and taps were sounded.
The pall bearers were: Midshipman Thomas Feigan, Joseph Phelan, Private Thomas Jackman, Lieutenant William Jackman, Private Emmet Jackman, William McCabe, Sergeant Linehan, Sergeant Denote. Bugler Hoffarth blew the taps.

The date of death suggests he died as part of the Hundred Days Offensive on the Western Front; either in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive or the Battle of the Canal du Nord.
